This application note describes the application of SFC-MS/MS methods for bioanalysis of enantiomeric drugs, taking omeprazole and rabeprazole as examples.
Plasma matrix spiked with drugs were pretreated by a simple procedure without SPE and were analysed by isocratic flow of supercritical CO2 and methanol coupled to an LCMS-8050 mass spectrometer. The recovery rate was near 100% and good repeatability was demonstrated.

The results suggested that pharmacokinetic studies requiring chiral separation can be greatly facilitated by using SFC-MS/MS in terms of robustness, throughput and sensitivity.
